Tsoodził — Mount Taylor — is a ~11,300 ft composite stratovolcano and one of the four sacred mountains of the Navajo Nation, rising above the Grants uranium belt and El Malpais lava fields. The Gooseberry Springs Trail (#77) from Cibola National Forest FR 193 is the standard day-hike route to the summit across lava, ponderosa, and open alpine slopes with long views of the Rio Grande rift country.
