Mexican Mountain rises above a bend of the San Rafael River in the northern San Rafael Swell. A long dirt road ends at a trailhead/camp area used to reach the river corridor, side canyons, and the Mexican Mountain Wilderness Study Area. The setting is remote cliff-and-river desert with no services.
