The Lower Black Box is a deep, narrow section of the San Rafael River gorge in the Mexican Mountain WSA. Parties wade and swim between high sandstone walls. This trailhead is the downstream access used by canyon parties under BLM Price Field Office management. It is a serious wet-canyon objective, not a roadside stroll.
