Glacier-carved canyon in the Ruby Mountains — often called the Swiss Alps of Nevada. A 12-mile paved scenic byway (NF-660, generally May–Oct) climbs to trailheads for alpine lakes, the Ruby Crest NRT, fishing, and wildlife viewing just southeast of Elko.
