NDOW wildlife management area on a seasonal, largely unaltered wetland on the east side of the Ruby Mountains in Ruby Valley — remnant of pluvial Lake Franklin. Important migratory and breeding habitat for waterfowl, shorebirds, sandhill cranes, and trumpeter swans, complementary to nearby Ruby Lake NWR but a separate state-managed unit.
