BLM national monument of cone-shaped volcanic tuff “tent rocks” and a slot canyon on the Pajarito Plateau south of Cochiti Pueblo. The Slot Canyon Trail threads narrow passages then climbs to a mesa rim overlook of hoodoo forests and the Rio Grande valley. Jointly stewarded with Pueblo de Cochiti; entry is reservation-only timed entry—one of New Mexico’s most photographed desert geology walks.
