Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.
About 31,000 acres of desert mountains and washes along the U.S.–Mexico border west of El Centro make up Jacumba Wilderness. Access is from I-8 at In-Ko-Pah via Smugglers Cave Road or from Highway 98 into Davies Valley; four-wheel drive is recommended south of the freeway. Peninsular bighorn sheep habitat and open cross-country hiking define the unit.
