Indian Pass Wilderness covers roughly 32,000 acres of Colorado Desert mountains and washes in Imperial County between Ogilby Road and Picacho State Recreation Area. Jagged peaks, alluvial fans, and desert washes support bighorn sheep and typical lower-Sonoran plant communities. Access is from Ogilby Road (S-34) and Indian Pass Road along the north side of the route toward Picacho. The wilderness is closed to motor vehicles.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
