Near 10,000 feet on the Black Range crest in Gila National Forest, a 1920s–1930s fire lookout tower and cabin complex is listed on the National Register. The Black Range Crest Trail from Emory Pass on NM 152 is a roughly five-mile one-way hike to the summit tower. The tower is still used as a fire lookout and is the usual turnaround for day hikers.
