Golden Valley Wilderness covers desert mountains and washes east of US Highway 395 near Red Mountain in San Bernardino County. Approach roads include Steam Well Road and Savoy Road off the Red Mountain–Trona corridor. The unit is undeveloped; hiking and horseback travel are the main uses.
