New Mexico Historic Site preserving adobe ruins of the 1865–1891 U.S. Army post that guarded the Mesilla Valley and El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. Buffalo Soldier units and other regiments served here; the visitor center interprets more than a millennium of use at the Paraje Robledo ford of the Rio Grande, from Mogollon farmers through the fort era.
