Between Henry Mountains country and its confluence with the Colorado in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the Dirty Devil River runs through deep sandstone canyons. A common put-in lies east of State Route 95. Expect a multi-day packraft or canoe trip in a remote desert gorge with few exits.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
