A large Navajo Sandstone amphitheater on the Hole-in-the-Rock Road where 1879 San Juan Expedition pioneers held dances and meetings while waiting for the route down to the Colorado River. The natural alcove remains a roadside historic stop in Grand Staircase–Escalante en route toward Dance Hall Rock and Fortymile Ridge.
