Chute Canyon cuts through the San Rafael Reef west of Highway 24 near Goblin Valley. The BLM trailhead on Behind the Reef Road is the usual start for a sandy canyon walk that can be combined with Crack Canyon loops. Walls rise high once the route enters the reef. No permit is required for day hiking.
