Signature Navajo Sandstone butte just inside Zion National Park's east entrance, etched with a grid of cross-bedding and joint fractures that read like a checkerboard. Roadside viewpoint on the Zion–Mount Carmel Highway is one of the park's most recognizable geologic roadside stops.
