Railroad construction camp and rough frontier town settled about 1880 on the rim of Canyon Diablo while the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad bridged the gorge. It was notorious during bridge-building years and declined once the line moved on. The townsite lies about twelve miles northwest of Meteor Crater and is distinct from the Two Guns Route 66 complex farther south on the canyon rim.
