Cactus Plain Wilderness Study Area covers about 59,100 acres of stabilized and semi-stabilized sand dunes north of Bouse in La Paz County. The western two-thirds of the Cactus Plain is unique in western Arizona: dune color and form change from west to east, and the open sand supports backpacking, day hiking, and horseback travel. All WSA land is federal; surrounding parcels may be private.
