Iconic ~7,785 ft basalt volcanic plug—the largest of the Rio Puerco necks—rising more than 1,100 ft above the valley floor northwest of Albuquerque. Classic columnar-jointed plug from Mt. Taylor–field volcanism (~2.6 Ma), managed as BLM Cabezon Wilderness Study Area with a scramble route from the west-side trailhead parking.
