The Burro Creek Recreation Site sits at about 1,960 feet in a Sonoran–Mojave transition canyon along a perennial stretch of Burro Creek, roughly sixty miles northwest of Wickenburg on US Highway 93. The Bureau of Land Management maintains a campground with individual and group sites, picnic tables, grills, and a small desert garden of native cacti. Day hiking and swimming holes along the creek bring most use; stay limits and seasonal heat shape how the place is used.
