Hard-to-reach 1870s–1880s silver camp high in the Inyo Mountains above Saline Valley, once home to the Keynote Mine and a short boom of stores and miners’ cabins. Stone ruins and mill remnants remain for strong backpackers who approach via long ridge or canyon routes—one of the more remote Sierra-east ghost towns still standing. Expect solitude, altitude, and zero services.
