Basalt flows, volcanic craters, pressure ridges, and lava tubes make up Aden Lava Flow Wilderness in the Potrillo volcanic field southwest of Las Cruces. Coppice dunes and Chihuahuan Desert scrub fringe the black rock. Access is by county roads off I-10 west of Las Cruces; travel on the flow is by foot over sharp, uneven basalt.
