Ten beehive-shaped stone kilns lined up in upper Wildrose Canyon inside Death Valley National Park—among the best-preserved charcoal kilns in the West. Built in 1877 by the Modock Consolidated Mining Company (with George Hearst among the incorporators) to fuel lead-silver smelters ~25 miles west in the Argus Range; operations likely ended by 1879. Short walk from the parking area; Wildrose Peak Trail starts at the site.
