Colorful sandstone outcrops of some of Anza-Borrego’s oldest sedimentary rock, rising above the Arroyo Salado bajada north of S-22 (Borrego-Salton Seaway) near milepost 35.5. An easy ~1.5-mile round-trip desert walk from an unsigned highway pullout threads washes and skirts the rock cluster—classic park geology day hike without the Calcite Mine or Fonts Point routes.
