Last surviving stagecoach stop on the historic Apache Trail (SR-88) deep in the Superstition Mountains. Grew from a prospector camp into a Roosevelt Dam freight/stage stop (town established 1904); today a tiny living tourist hamlet (post office, saloon, shops) on the paved lakes segment of the Apache Trail above Canyon Lake.
