Tanque Verde Falls drops through a granite canyon on the east side of Tucson in the Rincon foothills. A rough access road and scramble lead to pools and falls that run strongest after winter rain and monsoon storms. Local agencies and newspapers have long reported cliff-fall and flash-flood fatalities at the site.
