Where the Tuolumne, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin rivers meet, this Fish and Wildlife Service refuge holds restored riparian forest and wetlands first set aside for wintering Aleutian cackling geese. Visitors walk the four-mile Pelican Nature Trail through wetland and brush-rabbit habitat; the seasonal Beckwith observation area is the place for winter geese and sandhill cranes.
