Mormon settlement founded in the 1860s at the Muddy–Virgin confluence, later a thriving Moapa Valley town abandoned in the 1930s as Lake Mead rose behind Hoover Dam. Lake-level decline has re-exposed foundations, the schoolhouse steps, store pads, and ice-cream parlor wall; NPS maintains a trail and interpretive signs across the ruins inside Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
