Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park—classic Sonoran Desert bajada forests of giant saguaro, cholla, and palo verde west of Tucson. Red Hills Visitor Center anchors Bajada Loop Drive, Signal Hill petroglyph trail (stay on trail; protected rock art), and dozens of miles of desert footpaths on volcanic Tucson Mountains terrain. Complements already-proposed Organ Pipe farther west with the namesake saguaro skyline near the city.
