On Agua Fria National Monument, Riverbend Recreation Area has river access and a marked site of an 1891 one-room school that served local ranch families until about 1903. The wood-frame building is gone; foundations and interpretive context remain beside the Agua Fria. Dirt roads from Cordes Lakes reach the site.
