An undisturbed Clovis-era hunting camp and kill site sits along the upper San Pedro River. University of Arizona crews excavated here from 1966 to 1971, recovering Clovis points with mammoth and bison remains in a deep stratigraphic sequence. The Bureau of Land Management manages a short self-guided interpretive trail with wayside exhibits inside the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area east of Sierra Vista.
