Mount Augusta

High summit of the Clan Alpine Mountains in eastern Churchill County, an official Board on Geographic Names peak rising above remote BLM basin-and-range country between Dixie Valley and the Desatoya crest. The climb and ridge walks deliver classic Great Basin big-sky summit terrain—alpine-desert plant communities, long views to Sand Mountain and the Stillwaters, and genuine solitude on a range that sees far fewer visitors than the Sierra front.
