Mopah Peak is a 3,675-foot rhyolite plug rising from the eastern Turtle Mountains southeast of Needles. A BLM information panel and small parking area mark the wilderness boundary at the end of Route NS634, starting the route toward the peak and the palm oasis at Mopah Spring. The surrounding Turtle Mountains Wilderness is also recognized as a National Natural Landmark for its desert geology and springs.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
