On the east bank of the Rio Grande north of Alcalde, a 148-acre New Mexico Historic Site holds a Territorial-style hacienda with a 19th-century capilla, Victorian cottage, and farmyard. The property has been a residence and agricultural holding for centuries and is interpreted by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. The hacienda building has undergone restoration closures while grounds remain open on published days.
