On the Kolob Terrace west of Zion National Park, Kolob Creek is a designated wild and scenic stream. The corridor cuts sandstone highlands reached from the Kolob Terrace Road off State Route 9. Public access is mixed with private land and park boundaries; technical canyoneering segments may require Zion permits where inside the park.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
