1890s gold camp on the east flank of the East Range (Granite Mountain) that briefly boomed after Charles E. Kennedy’s Imperial Mine discovery — stamp mill, cyanide plant, and a short-lived population near 500 before complex ores and a failed promotion emptied the canyon. Rock foundations and leaching-plant ruins remain on a long graded approach from I-80 / Coal Canyon.
