Death Valley gold camp (discovered 1903; boom 1907–1912) famous for a mile-long aerial tramway that dropped ore 1,500 ft from the upper mine to the mill. NPS-stabilized lower mill/tram terminal is a short walk from the parking area; a steep unmaintained trail climbs to upper towers and the mine.
