Hell's Canyon Wilderness covers rugged desert mountains and canyons in Maricopa and Yavapai counties northwest of Phoenix. Saguaro and desert scrub give way to rocky ridges used for day hikes and short backpacks. Castle Creek and other dirt-road trailheads are the main access.
