Rio Arriba County, NM

Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.

Masonry pueblitos scatter through the Dinétah of northwestern New Mexico, dating mainly to the 1600s–1700s for Navajo defensive and residential use. BLM-managed examples include Simon Canyon, Frances Canyon, Tapacito, and others, several reached by short hikes from signed roads near Navajo Dam and Largo Canyon country. Treat ruins as fragile and culturally significant.
