Nearly abandoned Route 66 and railroad town on Interstate 40 east of Santa Rosa in Guadalupe County. Founded about 1901 as a ranch supply point and later highway stop, it was split by interstate construction. A stone schoolhouse, church, and many deteriorated adobe and frame buildings remain, with a few occupied structures; stay on public rights-of-way.
