Approximate location — plotted from published sources, not a site visit, and not a guarantee of access.
Cottonwood Narrows is a short, easy wash hike through the last narrow gorge of Cottonwood Creek where it cuts The Cockscomb in Grand Staircase-Escalante. The north trailhead is a small pullout on Cottonwood Canyon Road between Cannonville and US 89. A brown BLM post marks the Paria-Hackberry WSA boundary. The route is a few miles of scenic narrows, not a technical slot. The dirt road is impassable when wet.
Cultural sites and artifacts are protected by federal law (ARPA/NHPA) — stay on established routes, touch and remove nothing, and follow the managing agency's and the affiliated tribe's guidance on access.
