Day-use state park on the Turquoise Trail (NM-14) between Santa Fe and Madrid protecting the Cerrillos Hills—source of turquoise and other minerals worked since Ancestral Puebloan times and through Spanish colonial and American territorial mining. Multi-use trails cross juniper-studded ridges with mine-history interpretation; collecting is restricted—enjoy geology and history on-trail rather than digging.
