National Historic Landmark Mogollon pueblo (~AD 1260–1400) built on basalt cliffs of the Springerville volcanic field. Features a volcanic-rock Great Kiva, mesa-top terraces reached by a basalt staircase, and a circular solar-calendar enclosure. Guided tours leave from the city museum on Main Street; Hopi and Zuni still regard the place as ancestral.
