Chihuahuan Desert reservoir on the Rio Grande about 16 miles south of Truth or Consequences, formed by Caballo Dam in the 1930s. New Mexico State Parks manages developed camping, boat ramps, and desert shoreline recreation against the Caballo Mountains, with excellent birding and open-water views along I-25.
