Highest summit of the Sierra Ancha (~7,694 ft) in Tonto National Forest, capped by Cambrian sandstone analogous to Grand Canyon Tapeats and ringed by Proterozoic Apache Group quartzites and diabase that form the range’s cliffed skyline. A driveable high forest road and lookout/summit area give a classic field view of central Arizona’s transitional-zone geology above Workman Creek country.
